About Girl Guides

Girl Guides is the largest movement in the world for girls. There are 10 million Guides around the world, and tens of thousands in Australia. Girls aged between 5 and 18 years have fun and learn skills that develop their self-confidence and community responsibility. Leadership opportunities exist for women over 18 years of age. In addition to these opportunities, young women aged between 18 and 30 years can participate in guiding through the Olave Program.

When a girl becomes a Guide, she make a Promise, which recognises that she is a member of a community and should have respect for herself and others.

For more details about Guiding, read the Introduction to Guiding from Guides NSW/ACT.
